The kit installs the IQ controller and sensor, then connects to your existing FreshWater Salt System to deliver hourly chlorine, pH, and salt readings directly on your topside control panel — plus actionable recommendations for any chemistry adjustments needed. Available for 2024 and newer Hot Spring Highlife, Hot Spring Limelight, Caldera Utopia, and Caldera Paradise spas.

⚠️ Caldera Utopia owners — you probably already have this kit. The IQ Start-Up Kit ships pre-installed in 2024+ Caldera Utopia spas at the factory. If you own a Utopia, check your spa's control panel for IQ readings (chlorine, pH, salt) before ordering this kit. If you're already seeing those readings, you only need the 12-month replacement sensor, not the full kit. Buying this kit when you already have one factory-installed is a $429.99 mistake — and we cannot accept returns on electronic items.

Directions

1. Confirm the FreshWater Salt System is running with a stable daily chlorine residual of 3 ppm. Use 5-Way Test Strips to verify.
2. Power off the spa at the breakers (refer to your spa owner's manual for the specific procedure).
3. Locate the IQ system installation point on your spa (refer to the included Start Guide for your specific model).
4. Install the IQ Controller per the manufacturer's instructions in the Start Guide.
5. Remove the protective film from the sensor. Do not touch the sensor electrode with bare hands — handle by the housing only.
6. Insert the sensor into the controller and lock per the Start Guide instructions.
7. Restore power to the spa at the breakers.
8. Allow 15–30 minutes for the sensor to calibrate with your current water chemistry.
9. Verify IQ readings appear on your topside control panel. If readings don't appear within 24 hours, refer to the Start Guide troubleshooting section or call our service team.

Compatible Spa Models

The IQ system is not compatible with:

• Hot Spring or Caldera spas built before model year 2024
• Hot Spring ACE Salt System (different system entirely, used in 2004–2021 spas)
• Hot Spot, Freeflow, or other non-Highlife/Limelight/Utopia/Paradise spas
• Spas without an active FreshWater Salt System
• Spas using bromine, biguanide, ozone, or silver ion sanitizer methods
