The Unicel 7CH-322 is a 32 square foot top-load replacement cartridge serving three spa brands — Coleman, Artesian, and Master — replacing OEM part numbers 100520 and 3301-2109. It is a short, wide cartridge at 7" across and 8" tall, with 175 pleats, a semi-circular handle on the closed top, and a 2" male pipe thread on the bottom.
That 2" thread is the single most important thing on this page, and here is why. Unicel builds a second cartridge with the same 7" diameter, the same 8" length, the same 32 square feet, the same semi-circular handle, and fitment across the same spa brands. The two are identical in every published specification but one: that one has a 1-1/2" thread where this has a 2". Measuring the body will not tell you which you need. Only the thread will.
Where the wide, short shape pays off is cleanability. A 7" diameter gives roughly 22 inches of circumference for 175 pleats to occupy, so the folds stay generously spaced rather than crowded. Wide gaps let a garden hose actually reach the base of each pleat, so debris rinses out instead of compacting into the media. A cartridge that genuinely cleans back toward new performance is worth considerably more across its life than one with a higher pleat count that never quite recovers after the first few washes.
The threaded connection also eliminates bypass by design. On a drop-in cartridge the seal depends on the filter seating flat against a surface, and any gap lets unfiltered water slip past — the reason a spa can run cloudy with a brand-new filter installed. Here the cartridge is the connection, so water cannot reach the pump without passing through the media.
Media is 3 oz Reemay one hundred percent polyester over a solid molded core, with chemical-resistant end caps, capturing suspended particles down to roughly 20 microns. Made in the USA by Meissner Manufacturing, with more than 45 years behind the Unicel name.
Pro Tip — measure the thread. Nothing else will help you here. There is a companion cartridge that is identical to this one in every published dimension: same 7" diameter, same 8" length, same 32 square feet, same handle, and it fits the same spa brands. The only difference is the bottom thread — 1-1/2" on that one, 2" on this one — and the part numbers are one digit apart. A tape measure on the body tells you nothing. A tape measure across the threads tells you everything. Measure the outside diameter of the threaded fitting on your old cartridge before you order, and if it is anywhere near the line, count on the measurement rather than the photograph.
